Dorian mode
Named after The Dorians, one of the three major tribes of ancient Greece, the Dorian mode can be derived by playing all the white notes on a piano from D, or from the natural minor scale with a sharpened 6th.
The Dorian mode has a minor-feel to it due to the minor third (for example in the key of D, the third is F).
