Major pentatonic scale

Pentatonic scales contain only 5 distinct notes and are used in music from cultures throughout the world. The simplicity of pentatonic scales lends them considerably to improvisation as they work over several chords diatonic to the same key.
The Pentatonic major scale can be constructed from the diatonic major by removing the 4th and 7th notes.
