Phrygian mode

The Phrygian mode, named after the ancient kingdom of Phrygia in Anatolia (an area comprising of modern Turkey), may be considered as the natural minor with a flattened 2nd or as beginning major scale on the 3rd degree.
The Phrygian mode is also known as the Kurdish mode in Arabic.
